Good Morning Everyone,

It certainly feels like summer is here. It was quite warm already this morning when I went for a walk. The temperature was in the 70’s. The sun was shining but when looking out across the valley the air looked hazy. Laundry was being hung out on the line and the Purple Martin’s were singing as they flew through the air.

Strawberries were a good crop and peas are ready as well. Hay has been made and the farmers that baled it green were able to get it in OK, but if they wanted it dry it was not so good as it rained so much some of it spoiled.

With summertime comes a lot of events in the area.

A 2 – day auction will be held in Danville, OH on June 22nd – 23rd for Haflingers, Draft Ponies, Carriages, Tack, Antiques, & Collectibles.

On June 30th is the annual Ohio Crippled Children benefit auction held at a new location this year; at the Event Center in Mt. Hope instead of at Kidron. Our Church Sewing Ladies did 2 crib quilts that will be sold there.

On July 4th, Mt. Hope will have the usual Wednesday Livestock Auction and Flea Market.

On July 6th & 7th is the Annual Transport for Christ, from Kidron, to Mt. Hope, to Berlin, to Fryburg, & back to Mt. Hope. On Friday evening there will be singing and food at Kidron & Mt. Hope then a benefit auction at Mt. Hope on Saturday. For more information call 330 – 465 – 4587.

July 14th is the date for the benefit auction for Doughty Run School at Wise School. They have quilts also, and wall hangers, furniture, crafts, lots of food, etc.

Our Annual Summer Sale here at the Ashery will be on June 28th – June 30th.

When all is said and done, Holmes County is a good place to be in the summer months.

Here is a recipe to use up extra strawberries.

Strawberry Daiquiri ?

• 3 cups frozen strawberries

• 2 cups apple juice

• 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

• honey or stevia to taste

Combine in blender. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately. A good summertime drink.

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” – Proverbs 17:27

Have a good day,
