Good Afternoon Everyone, 1-18-21
Martin Luther King day and it is snowing again. Last night we got a light dusting again that covered the old dirty looking snow. Last Friday it was so beautiful the way it came down. It started in with light rain in the morning then soon turned to snow. The flakes kept getting bigger and bigger and coming faster and by noon it really came fast, and the flakes were quite large. It was the kind of snow that as a youngster it would have been fun to run outside and throw my arms out wide and lift my face and catch a few flakes on my tongue. Oh, the joys of winter!
There is not much going on around here during January. Often when I look outside, I see a neighbor or someone out in the field with a team of horses hitched to a manure spreader. This is a good time to get the barn cleaned out. It is a job that doesn’t get done if there are animals in the barn.
I am not at the store as of now. I am at home recuperating from the aftereffects of Covid. If anyone wants to respond to this letter you may want to send a note by mail to the store, as I will not there to see the emails. Someone there will bring the notes to me.
A group of 8 young men and 3 couples are spending the month of January at the Outer Banks as a mission to help repair or rebuild homes that were destroyed or damaged by storms. It is usually an enjoyable experience for the ones involved.
Coming soon! New items at the Ashery: Ready made soups! We will be getting in 4 flavors: Chili, Chicken Noodle, Broccoli & Cheese and Stuffed Pepper. You will find them in the open cooler.
I hope you all will have a safe and healthy winter.
I will close with a verse from 1 Timothy 1:17: “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
