Good Afternoon, 7-15-24
We are having a sunny, slightly hazy, quite warm, summer day. Last evening while sitting with my family on the back patio the breeze felt a bit cool. It is nice when the nights are cooler.
The gardens are still doing well. Green beans need to be picked and canned. Fresh cucumbers are so crisp, juicy and delicious.
On my way to work I noticed again the beauty of the periwinkle blue of the Chicory blooms. The plants grow and flourish along the edges of our country roads. With the lacey white of the Queen Anne’s Lace in the background and the scattered bunches of blooming Red Clover the roadside ditches are rather pretty. I also got to hear and see the Dickcissel, a slightly rare bird for our area.

There was a wedding in our church on Saturday. It takes a lot of food and folks fixing it and serving hundreds of people. It is always an enjoyable, satisfying day.
I hope you all will have a safe and happy rest of the summer.
